You And Me, Always Book Review

On the morning of Lily's twenty-fifth birthday, it's time to open the very last letter written to her by her beloved mother, who died when she was eight. Learning more about the first and only real love of her mum's life is a revelation. On the same day, Lily also meets Eddie Tessler, a man fleeing fame who just might have the ability to change her world in unimaginable ways. But her childhood friend Dan has his own reasons for not wanting Lily to get too carried away by Eddie's attentions.

Before long, secrets begin to emerge and Lily's friends and family become involved. In the beautiful Cotswold village of Stanton Langley, nothing will ever be the same again...

When I got You And Me, Always I genuinely hugged it. Weirdo that I am .... I was just so smitten with the cover and feel of the book that I felt this book should have been a part of my life sooner. With life being dominated by technology and modern shapes it was so lovely to meet this enchanting book with the traditional country life appeal.

As this is the first book I've read by Jill Mansell I had high expectations. Raving reviews of her work meant I needed to have a piece of the action. I'm pleased to say I haven't been disappointed.

You And Me, Always is a beautiful story of 25 year old Lily who discovers that her now passed away mother had a true love before she met her father. The romantic tale that unfolds is truly mesmerizing and keeps you hooked from start to finish. With not one but two love interests for Lily there is mild humour threaded throughout the book which is so real to life you will laugh half way through the punchline.

The romantic sentiments in this story really strike home and actually really make me wish I lived in a community such as the one in Stanton Langley. I'm already looking for my next book by Jill Mansell and hope this is the beginning of a long bookish relationship.
