Blooming Fiction, lifestyle blog, Grand Prize Murder Book Review
Inviting the bestselling cozy crime author Bella Brookes to town is going to be the best business move Vicky Simmons has made yet. Not only is Bella going to sign her books to kick off Glen Cove’s annual One-Mile Book Market, but she’s also running her famous scavenger hunt right in town. That’s sure to win over the townsfolk!
All is going to plan until a dead body is discovered, drawing Vicky straight to the scene of the crime. After the last murder Vicky had vowed to stay out of Sheriff Cash’s way, but when death comes to town she finds herself embroiled in the investigation. She’s racing against time to uncover the murderer…but can there really be a second devious killer in Glen Cove? Vicky will stop at nothing to get to the truth.

As the follow up in the Country Gift Shop series, after the first instalment Dead To Begin With, Grand Prize Murder once again introduces readers to Conroy's latest heroine Vicky Simmons. Getting to know Vicky in the first book makes launching into book 2 a breeze. A quick note on the side worth noting is that if you haven't read the first book you will not feel any worse for wear. Everything you need is placed before you in order to become involved in the unravelling plot.
Having already been involved with solving murders in the town, Vicky Simmons is determined to stay out of the way of the local sheriff. However, Grand Prize Murder has other ideas and Vicky is propelled right to the frontline of investigations into the latest murder.
Plus if murder wasn't enough ... Vicky's guest Bella intends to host her famed scavenger hunt at the annual book fair. An incredible prize of a trip to London is on the cards but can Vicky catch the killer and ensure the book fair's success all at once? Well you'll have to read Grand Prize Murder to find out!
I rarely read more than one entry in a series of stories but the Country Gift Shop serial is one that has broken my long standing stance on nothing beats the original. Grand Prize Murder flew through my fingertips and kept me involved throughout. This was the perfect follow up to Dead To Begin With and I eagerly await the third instalment to the series.
