Makeup Academy Lipstick

Blooming Fiction, lifestyle blog, Makeup Academy Lipstick

Value for money is so important when it comes to cosmetics, in my opinion. Forking out a lot of money for a product that isn't worth the branded packaging is a waste, so unless there are unrivalled reviews of higher priced products I tend to try the 'dupes' or more affordable versions of the higher priced competitors.
The latest cosmetic purchase I have made is from a brand I met in Superdrug called Makeup Academy. With budget prices and some pretty palettes, this is a brand I haven't tried before and since it is affordable and cruelty free I couldn't find a reason not to have a go.
Unfortunately I'm not the most adventurous when it comes to makeup looks and styles, so my item of choice was the Makeup Academy Lipstick in shade 9.

The shimmery shade 9 is very close to my natural lip colour, apart from the glitter aspect obviously, which is why I feel so comfortable wearing this lipstick. One day I will conquer the demons and step out in a deep red lippy but at least for now the subtle but pretty shade from Makeup Academy will do me nicely.
Being at the bargain price of £1 I had no delusions that this will be the best lipstick in the world, but with tight budgets and small amounts of disposable income this was a product that I gladly picked up as a bargain.

Application is smooth and easy, with no effort needed to drag the product across my lips. There is a definite shimmer to the lipstick, but it doesn't look like you've tipped half a pot of glitter on your face.
There's a slight marzipan scent to the product, which isn't completely horrible, and the durability is kind of average. Re application is definitely needed as some does come off on cups and glasses, but the imprints of lipstick are no more than what you often find with other makeup brands.
If shade 9 isn't quite to your taste there are also a good number of other shades available, still at the bargain price of £1. You can find all the colours available on the Superdrug website.
