Being A Mummy | Three Months In

I'm completely shocked and flabbergasted that I'm already writing about my first 3 months of being a mummy. Time usually flies but this is ridiculous!

After an eventful birth, I have quickly forgotten about all the pain, sickness and odd tummy movements as I watch my lovely little lady grow. She's already turning into a cheeky little madam but it's that personality I'm loving. Her daddy is by far one of the cheekiest people I know so it had to happen at some point.

The biggest challenge I have come across so far is finding the balance to keep my feet on the ground. Being a wife, mummy, house keeper, writer, cook and all round dogs body is really hard work. Finding time for myself is incredibly difficult as even though I'm on maternity I'm still trying to make ends meet.

That being said ... I wouldn't have it any other way. It's all a learning experience no matter how tired and grumpy I get. Nothing you do is ever a waste of time, so every day I feel like I've accomplished nothing, I've actually managed a great deal.

Pet hates have already emerged in the shape of naps. And lack of. My little one is a stubborn so and so and will not go to sleep even when she is yawning and screaming because she is tired. This can be very trying at the best of times and I'm actually writing this post at 3.30 am after taking 2 hours to get her to go to sleep after a night feed. Talk about dedication to my work. :)

Despite the pet hates, endless trips to the changing station and screaming abdabs at bath time I really love being a mummy. It's the most demanding job I've ever known but it's also the most rewarding. Just one little smile is the best payment for hours of hard work. I'm still sad that I no longer have my 'little' baby anymore but I love who she's growing into and I'm enjoying all the cuddles I can get!
