The Snow Globe Book Tour

As Christmas 1926 approaches, the Forbes family are preparing to host a celebration at Eden Hall. Eighteen-year-old Daisy is preoccupied by a sense of change in the air.

Overnight, her relationship with Stephen Jessop, the housekeeper’s son, has shifted and every encounter seems fraught with tension. Before the festivities are over, Daisy has received a declaration of love, a proposal and a kiss – from three different men. Unable to bear the confusion she flees to London to stay with her elder sister.

By the following summer, Daisy has bowed to the persistence of the man who proposed to her the previous year. When the family reunite for a party at Eden Hall and Stephen is once more in her life, it is clear to Daisy she is committing to the wrong person. Yet she also believes that family secrets mean she has no choice but to follow her head instead of her heart.

Will love conquer all, or is Daisy’s fate already written?

When I was approached to take part on this blog tour I was delighted and excited to read a historic novel. Having already loved The Woman On The Orient Express I knew this book would be right up my street. And I was right.

Even before getting into the actual story line of The Snow Globe I was already sold from the first 2 pages. But before I get into that, let me give you a quick lowdown on the plot.

So, our leading lady, Daisy, has a trail of suitors who can all offer something for a secure future but not necessarily the future she wants. With men practically falling over themselves to gain her hand she escapes to London but she can't stop the constant battle between her head and her heart. Just to add to the confusion there are some family secrets which also bear leverage in her important decision as to who to choose.

Okay, so back to why I instantly loved this book. A little bit of background from me as well. The plot is based at the same time as Agatha Christie's disappearance, interest already peaked as I'm an avid reader of her work. AND the book is based substantially close to where she disappeared. For those who don't know, Agatha Christie's car was found within quarter of a mile from Silent Pool, a lake, which happens to be less than 15 minutes from where I grew up. Making this book an obvious stretch of interest for me.

The Snow Globe is an easy reading and completely submersible book which tugs at your heart strings. I felt a mixture of emotions while reading this book which mostly consisted of wonder, romance and self preservation. I did pick a favourite suitor but I won't say who in case I sway your own decision as to who you like.

My rating for The Snow Globe is an easy 5/5. The story is enchanting, romantic and completely addictive. This is a definite must to your TBR pile.
