Get The Flock To Gala - A Night Out For Everyone

After the warm reception to my blog post about Mecca Bingo, I couldn't wait to share my experience at Gala Bingo with you all. I was kindly invited to a fun night out at the Gala Bingo in Bexleyheath with a small group of friends.

We were there to see the launch of some party bingo with a fab pink theme! There were flamingos on the stage and a little disco after the main event finished. I had every intention of staying for a bit of a boogie but the babysitter called so little miss mummy had to leave the party.

To say I felt welcome would be an understatement. Never in my life have I been taken to a table with my name all over it ... literally! Balloons, sweets and glittery cowboy hats awaited me and I couldn't have felt more treasured and lucky. Being dressed up in pink couldn't have been more apt since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month!

On arrival I was met by manager Darren who gave me the grand tour. There's a lot of fruit machines in the lobby area, great if you have some spare pound coins! I didn't try them but my Mr had fun trying to figure some out. Also in this area are some lovely leather sofas where you can play the main bingo event but still be able to natter.

In addition to main event bingo, which I'll mention in a mo, there's party bingo in between games. Set on multi coloured boards there are chances to win smaller cash amounts as well as link up games with other Gala branches to win huge amounts of cash.

The main bingo itself consists of several pages with 3 games on a page. I was delighted to win a fiver on one page, something that probably won't happen again since I don't normally win anything anywhere. Best of silence is required in any bingo game so much of our time was spent ogling at each others tickets and pulling daft faces. I should point out that we were fortunate enough to try out the electronic pads which automatically marks off your numbers. You can turn the autopilot off but since we were going to have food it was a lot easier.

The pads are really easy to use and you can change lots of settings including the shape of your bingo dabber and the background ... mine changed to a desert island. I hoped it would give me a chance of winning cash for a holiday. It didn't work.

Speaking of food .... it was yummy!! We were extremely lucky to have our pick from the entire menu. I chose the chicken basket which had breadcrumbed southern fried chicken fillets, chicken popcorn and chips. Not on my diet at all but really nice. The Gala menu also features chicken kievs, fish dishes, light sandwiches and loads more. There's also a well stocked bar ... but maybe keep tabs on how much you drink as you don't want to miss a claim!

As a whole this was an amazing night that was great fun and I would easily recommend to anyone wanting a fun night out without roudy club scenes. I want to take this opportunity to thank Gala and the team at Bexleyheath for making me feel so welcome.
