I love trying new places to eat, don't you? On the hunt for some breakfast during a recent visit to Bluewater shopping centre, I came across Comptoir Libanais, a Lebanese canteen. Now. I've never tried Lebanese food before and after this visit I am assured it will not be the last time I eat it.

As the most important meal of the day I find that breakfast is rather naughtily overpriced in many places but £6.95 for food and 2 drinks is more than agreeable with me. Call me tight but that's why me and my mister decided to give Comptois Libanais a go.

Considering that this restaurant ( sorry  .... canteen ) serves Lebanese food there are some popular favourites including a cooked breakfast and salmon with eggs. Completely out of my character I didn't choose the salmon ( which I love ) I opted for a Lebanese dish which sounded quite nice. Quick spoiler ... it was!

My breakfast of choice was the Shakshuka with Sojok. It's a largely tomato based dish with onions, peppers and coriander. Armenian sausage and fried egg are on top with some slices of pitta to scoop up after, or during your meal. In all honesty it tastes a little bit like a bolognese sauce. From the first bite I loved it. I don't normally deviate from my usual food options but I'm so glad I did!! Also pictured is my mister's choice, the Comptoir full breakfast. He enjoyed his too but he wanted more sausages. Not that there wasn't enough ... he's just greedy!

In addition to a yummy cooked breakfast, the breakfast meal deal included a freshly prepared juice and hot drink. The hot drinks are a little on the small side but the coffees are pretty nice. I've tried coffee in lots of places and the cappuccino I had here was among my top 5.

The juices can sing their own praises. It's a delight to have more options than just apple or orange juice! The mister has carrot and orange ( quite nice ) and I had apple, cucumber and orange. Mine literally tasted like a summery salad in a glass, it was lovely! My only nitpick is that there were ice cubes in the juice. Not that other people may actually like having ice ... it's just something I really don't like.

You have to admit that for £6.95 that's an amazing deal! So if you're ever round Bluewater shopping centre in Kent this is a fab place for breakfast.
