Sensatori Mexico

Blooming Fiction, lifestyle blog, Sensatori Mexico

The Sensatori brand is part of the TUI group ( formerly belonging to Thomson ) and features some stunning high star luxury hotels. They're not adult only but they have some great facilities to make you feel mega relaxed and, well, in the holiday mode.

I went to the Sensatori in Mexico for my honeymoon and had the time of my life. Every year I wish I could go back but funds mean sadly it will be some time before I can return. Pushing money aside here's some snaps and what I thought about the hotel.

The Room

How many places can you visit which have a whirlpool bath in your room as standard? I was amazed and delighted to have this major quirk in the room. I'm a bit funny about my body so having the bath indoors and not on the balcony was really great for me. In addition to the whirlpool bath there was also a rain shower which I loved. The only thing I will say about the water in Mexico is that it smells a little. Not a disgusting smell but none of it is drinkable ( except from bottles ) and it has a noticeable scent. Use plenty of bubbles.

The rooms themselves are really big and so generous in space. We had two enormous beds, which worked out for us in the end. Although we were on our honeymoon we spent a couple of nights in separate beds as my Mr got very badly sunburnt in the pool. He now wears a t shirt whenever he goes swimming.

There's also a really good sized balcony to enjoy. We were lucky to be so close to the sea, so close that we could hear the waves every evening, it was lovely. There's definitely enough space to sunbathe if you fancy some privacy.

The Hotel

I honestly cannot fault the hotel at all. Everything was clean and tidy and very well kept everywhere. Staff, including cleaners, were polite and friendly and everyone greeted you no matter their station. This was so nice since it's not the first time I've been glared at my a member of staff.

There are several restaurants to choose from, one of which is self service, and there's a very nice mojito bar next door to the entertainment venue. Speaking of which, the entertainment wasn't bad. There was a different act on every night as well as some in house shows which were of a really good standard. Drinks waiters also come to your table with drinks on autopilot. I won't say how many blue lagoons I had in the space of one evening.

There's a selection of daytime activities which chop and change, some in the pool and others on the beach or sports facilities. If you want a super laid back holiday away from the noise, stay clear from the pool on the left hand side of the resort. This is where I was stuck while my husband joined in near enough everything. But if you do get stuck like me there are a couple of pool bars so as long as you pop yourself over there you'll be just fine.

The Food

Yum yum yummmmm!!! Let's start with the self service restaurant. It got a bit samey after a while but the food was at an okay temperature and there was plenty to keep you going.

The other speciality restaurants were lovely. My favourite was the Mexican, but for breakfast I loved Zavaz which was bright blue and right by the sea. There's a great selection for all meals throughout the day and most lunchtimes there's also a barbeque on the beach.

As I said, the Mexican restaurant was my favourite and I always left bursting at the seams. The food was so delicious I wanted to try everything. I didn't quite do that but I don't think I was far from it.

One must do when visiting the Sensatori in Mexico is to try Le Chique. The food is extremely different and a little daunting but really tasty and worth jumping across your comfort zone line.
