Book Review | The Holiday Cottage By The Sea by Holly Martin

Kindle and sunflowers

Tori Graham is in need of a holiday. Trying to piece her heart back together after losing the love of her life, she escapes to Blossom Cottage, with its picturesque views of the sea. And plans to spend the summer in gorgeous Sandcastle Bay, where her best friend Melody Rosewood lives.

Tori’s not expecting her summer by the beach to be eventful, until she meets handsome and mysterious Aidan Jackson…

Aidan looks after the holiday cottage Tori is staying in. Healing from past hurts, he wants to avoid any further chance of heartache. But could this newcomer be the breath of fresh air he needs?

Finding herself embracing life in the coastal community, Tori starts to fall in love with Sandcastle Bay and its welcoming cast of residents. But that’s not all she begins to fall for, as Tori is swept away by Aidan’s genuine heart and mischievous sense of humour. The attraction between them is undeniable, but will a simple holiday romance be enough?

As Tori’s stay in Sandcastle Bay comes to an end she has a tough decision to make…. Has her heart found a new place to call home.

It's definitely been a while since a book made me laugh in the first 6%. An amusing event involving a turkey is a unique and inviting opener to a book which promises light hearted reading for the remainder of the story.

Further early on meetings with a lady who can accurately predict marriage pair ups helps gear up the story of The Holiday Cottage By The Sea in a direction which is new but classic at the same time.

Previous traumatic events set personal borderlines with some of the characters, especially the passing of Matthew who was a loved family member, childhood bestie and special someone. However, the energetic Elliot lives on in his father's name and keeps his memory alive for those left behind.

The enchanting story of The Holiday Cottage By The Sea pans out over the fruit picking season which is a warm invitation for lead character Tori, who's spent months locked away working. Especially when in exchange she gets to stay in a pretty cottage maintained by her forecast husband to be.

Looking back over The Holiday Cottage By The Sea there aren't any scenes I'd want to omit from the storyboard. Every setting blends seamlessly together to create a charming story of living past grief, finding happiness and discovering that you really can learn to love again.

I really enjoyed reading The Holiday Cottage By The Sea and I adored the fact that it made me laugh so early on, but I stick to my guns that Spring At Blueberry Bay was one of my favourites by Holly Martin. Still a delightful read but not my fave.
