Book Tour - The Wedding Date by Zara Stoneley

Book Tour - The Wedding Date by Zara Stoneley

When Samantha Jenkins is asked to be the maid of honour at her best friend’s wedding, she couldn’t be happier. There are just three problems…
1) Sam’s ex-boyfriend, Liam, will be the best man.

2) His new girlfriend is pregnant.
3) Sam might have told people she has a new man when she doesn’t (see points 1 and 2 above)

So, Sam does the only sensible thing available to her… and hires a professional to do the job.
Actor Jake Porter is perfect for the role: single, gorgeous and cheap! Sam is certain it’s the perfect solution: no strings, no heartbreak and hopefully no chance of being found out.
But spending a week in the Scottish Highlands with Jake is harder than she imagined. He is the perfect boyfriend, charming, sexy and the hottest thing in a kilt since Outlander! And his dog Harry is quite possibly the cutest things Sam has ever seen!
As the wedding draws closer, Jake plays his part to perfection and everyone believes he is madly in love with Sam. The problem is, Sam’s not sure if Jake is acting anymore…

Review

Hooked from page 1.

The Wedding Date is a funny and satisfying read which is a cross breed between Bridget Jones and Pretty Woman. As I approached the end of the book I found myself slowing down because I didn't want the adventure to end. I read the entire book with a surprising speed because it was so easy to become fully submerged into the plot.

Making up a fake boyfriend has been done many times but to contemplate hiring an escort to cover up the lie is a whole new level. Obviously this kind of tale comes with its own hilarity which adds to the chick flick feel of The Wedding Date

Sam, definitely not Sammy, is at her wit's end trying to stay calm as she parades around her pretend boyfriend, trying to convince everyone that she came out of a messy breakup for the better. But of course some members of the family try to wangle their way in to set her up on a date. Namely her mother. I can almost hear Sam's mum saying 'don't say what, say pardon', absolutely one of my fave eye roll moments from Bridget Jones.

The Wedding Date himself, Jake, is an absolute dream who leaves little to the imagination, he just springs in there. Dashing, handsome and a modern idea of a gentleman, he plays his role of the 'boyfriend' to perfection, charming all of Sam's relatives and other guests at the wedding. It's very easy to like Jake and I have to admit I read some pages faster than others to get back to him.

Zara Stoneley has done an amazing job with The Wedding Date and I'm thrilled that I was given the opportunity to read the story as part of this book tour. I would gladly award a full five stars to this fab book and though I'd love to talk about it all day ... I'm keeping the details to myself and closing off by saying you need to buy this book.
