Book Review | Ottercombe Bay Part Two

Daisy Wickens has returned to Ottercombe Bay, the picturesque Devon town where her mother died when she was a girl. She plans to leave as soon as her great uncle’s funeral is over, but Great Uncle Reg had other ideas. He’s left Daisy a significant inheritance – an old building in a state of disrepair, which could offer exciting possibilities, but to get it she must stay in Ottercombe Bay for twelve whole months.
With the help of a cast of quirky locals, a few gin cocktails and a black pug with plenty of attitude, Daisy might just turn this into something special. But can she ever hope to be happy among the ghosts of her past?

Enchanting and full of proper laugh out loud moments, Ottercombe Bay Part Two ( Gin And Trouble ) is an easy reading tale of Daisy and her 12 month stay in a crumbling old building.

My official rating for this second instalment of Ottercombe Bay is four stars on the basis that it doesn't particularly work as a stand alone. On reading the first 10 % I hadn't much of an idea of what was going on as characters were appearing and I didn't know who they were until I'd sussed it out myself.

That being said ... I thoroughly enjoyed the book once I got to grips with it.

Bella Osborne has an incredible talent which can bring stories right off the page and with minimal effort I found myself fully submersed in the plot. The characters are realistic and have the ability to tug your emotions in anyway they wish. Some of the characters are more lovable than others but they all play outstanding roles in bringing the story to life.

After finishing Ottercombe Bay Part Two I found I wanted to talk about the book for hours but as I don't reveal spoilers on Blooming Fiction I'm keeping it zipped for now.

So on reflection ... Ottercombe Bay Part Two is an enjoyable and heartwarming read but read part one first.
